I use the HTTP Full Web Page sensor with the Chromium browser engine. After a while, the sensor shows an error message:

What can I do?

This article applies as of PRTG 22

Use Windows credentials of parent device with Chromium

This is an error that only occurs on some systems. It shows that Chromium was not able to delete temporary files. If you get this error message,

  • either use one of the other browser engines in the sensor's settings,
  • or set the Security Context setting of the sensor to Use Windows credentials of parent device.

When you use the Windows credentials of the parent device, make sure that you enter valid credentials in the Settings tab of the parent device. The Chromium engine then no longer runs under the Windows user account that your probe runs under (by default, this is the local Windows "system" user account). Instead, it runs as the user that you define.
