PRTG server monitor network bandwidth usage of workstation on network?

Have win2008r2 fileserver, xpp sp3 workstation, 7 pro workstation. PRTG installed on win2008 box, remote probe installed on workstations, bandwith usage by workstations not auto discovered? Where is a step-by-step? Can only imagine rolling out on 100 node network! What am I missing here? Thanks! XPP box has an always up rdp connection which concerns me as we're on metered bandwidth here.

hello,

installing a remote probe on all the workstations is not required!

PRTG can monitor your workstations without an agent, using WMI or/and SNMP

did you already run an auto discovery on your network?

Did you already take a look at the quick start guide?

There is no simple answer to this question. The approach depends completely on the setup and topology of your network as well as the software and hardware used. Please have a look at the following article: How do I discern excessive bandwidth usage with PRTG?
