SNMP Monitoring

Hi support,

I have recently installed PRTG software but I cannot configure the SNMP Monitor. The SNMP Trap Receiver below "probe device" keep telling me that it is down, while I am 100% sure that the port number is correct.

What I want to do is the following: I have a few computer systems, software and video cameras running here and want to receive traps when a status change is appearing from one of those devices.

Have you had a look at How can I use PRTG’s trap receiver and what are its limitations? to ensure the trap(s) in case are properly configured (e.g. using an explicit OID)?

Hi Sir Hutter,

Of course I had a look at that link before, but my PRTG Network Monitor keeps telling me: Status: Down Message: Could not open UDP Port 161

I am sure that it is configured correctly and first run was as Administrator since this is Windows 7. How do I get this up and do I have the possibility to do SNMP monitoring (trap receiving)?

Please forward us a screenshot of the Trap Receiver sensor's settings to [email protected]. Please provide the article number of this thread for reference.
