Closed Port Monitoring

Votes:

Hi Community,

I would like to Monitor TCP Ports on remote devices by their "CLOSED" Status. This means for example if on a specific device tcp port 22 becames open then PRTG should give an alert (Red Status). If the port remains closed then the sensor should indicate everything is fine (Green Status).

I need this to ensure specific ports remains closed on some devices.

Any ideas on how to implement this?

Thanks and regards,

Thodie

Hi Thodie,

you can use the Port Sensor for this, it also allows you to have different goals setup, e.g. the goal to monitor weather the port is open or closed. Please see details about it in the PRTG Manual: https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/port_sensor.htm

Hope this helps!

kind regards, Andy
