F5 Loadbalancer not able to monitor snmp traffic

Hi,

We are using Paessler PRTG Monitoring in the Version 16.2.23.3270+ and in Version 7.3.3.5634.

In the Old Software Version of PRTG we are able to monitor interfaces from Loadbalancer BIGIP LTM from F5. In the new Software Version unfortunately not.

SNMP is working fine, because we can monitor Uptime, CPU Usage etc. The SNMP Traffic Sensor also detect the Interfaces, but when I add them, I receive following error message: No such object (SNMP error # 222).

Output from SNMP Tester:

Paessler SNMP Tester 5.2.3 Computername: ADMPRTGP01 Interface: 172.17.52.31
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (0 ms) : Device: 172.17.0.26
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (1 ms) : SNMP V3
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (1 ms) : 64Bit Counter
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (57 ms) : SNMP Datatype: SNMP_EXCEPTION_NOSUCHOBJECT
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (57 ms) : -------
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (58 ms) : In: No such object (SNMP error # 222)
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (113 ms) : SNMP Datatype: SNMP_EXCEPTION_NOSUCHOBJECT
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (113 ms) : Out: No such object (SNMP error # 222)
28.09.2016 13:43:29 (114 ms) : Done

Uptime:

28.09.2016 14:38:57 (4 ms) : Device: 172.17.0.26
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (5 ms) : SNMP V3
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (7 ms) : Uptime
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (41 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (43 ms) : -------
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (45 ms) : DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = 1270068465 ( 146 days )
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (80 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (82 ms) : HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.0 = 1270081474 ( 147 days )
28.09.2016 14:38:57 (84 ms) : Done

We are using SNMP in Version 3. The IP Addresses from new PRTG Monitor are allowed on the Loadbalancers itself. What can be the cause for this issue?

Thanks in Advance.

Best regards Marcin

Hi Marcin,

I've sent you an email with a scan script for SNMP Tester.

Kind regards,

Erhard
