VMware Host Hardware Status SOAP sensor - wrong password

Votes:

I am trying to add the VMware host hardware sensor (SOAP) but am getting an error for incorrect password. I have reviewed the KB that describes which characters are not okay and I have confirmed that none of these characters are being used in the password.

I have setup the PRTG group to use the root credentials on the host. Is this a supported configuration or have I misunderstood how to set this up?

My PRTG probe server is running windows 2012 R2.

Hi there,

Please try to enter the credentials directly into the settings of the device in PRTG in the Credentials for VMware/Xenserver". This will prevent issues with the inheritance somewhere in the device tree.

Best regards, Felix
