Notifications Stopped Working

Votes:

0

We were chugging along just fine and two weekends ago our notifications just stopped working. We are receiving an alert in the lower right corner indicating that something was wrong with notifications.

We have been inside and outside the config and we're as certain as we can be that there weren't any changes.

We discovered our server was slightly out of date so we updated it to the latest version (v17.1.30.1618.)

Is anyone else having similar problems? Where does the notification module log its error messages?

many thanks in advance.

Hello there,
thank you for your KB-Post.

You can check for failed notifications using the "Notification Delivery Log", available under Logs > System Events > Notifications, this will allow you to identify any failed notifications.

You can also send a Test notification from within Setup > Notifications using the Test button. Send a test notification and if it doesn't arrive on the client, check the notification log.

If you're having issues with the E-mail delivery, please make sure that you're using the Use SMTP relay server (recommended inside LANs/NATs) option (and NOT Direct delivery using built-in email server (default)). The later can stop working when your DNS changes or mail server configuration changes.

And for extensive troubleshooting, please review this Post to enable the detailed debuglog:
