Move devices from one probe to another probe on a different machine?

Votes:

0

Hello

For load balancing, we want to move some devices (and wmi checks) to another probe. We can do this since we have a site license. We still want to 'follow-up' everything with 1 interface (if possible).

There about 300 sensors over 60 devices I want to move.

  • How can I move them to a new probe (without reconfiguring them)?
  • Is there a possibility to move the historic data with it?

TIA

Mario

Dear Mario,

please see How do I move a PRTG probe from one PC to another?.

For gapless monitoring, a failover cluster is a good solution. It is introduced with PRTG8, currently in Beta test. For a preview, please visit the Beta test website.
