Bulk add sensors to multiple devices

Is there a way to add a sensor to multiple devices in a simple manner. I'd like to add say an ping, snmp sensor to multiple devices rather than one device at a time.

Create a "model" object, create a device template from it, then select all your devices in management mode, right click, "Run auto-discovery with template", uncheck everything then check the new template ? If the devices aren't created yet you can create an auto-discovery group and give it your list of IPs/DNS names.

This is valid if your sensor can be included in a template, if it isn't, I don't think it is possible :/
