Hello there,

I think all Cloudwatch sensors currently only support the following regions:

  • US East (Northern Virginia)
  • US West (Oregon)
  • US West (Northern California)
  • Canada (Central)
  • EU (Ireland)
  • EU (London)
  • EU (Frankfurt)
  • Asia Pacific (Singapore)
  • Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
  • Asia Pacific (Sydney)
  • Asia Pacific (Seoul)
  • Asia Pacific (Mumbai)
  • South America (Sao Paulo)

I guess the sensors need to be adjusted to cover additional/new regions, I will address this to development to see what they can do about it.

Kind regards,

Erhard

I've created a ticket now for development, but it won't be a quick fix. The current AWS sensors need more or less a general overhaul, they currently also are based on AWS SDK v2, so it may also not be possible to cover all the new regions with it. So in the end, it's on the roadmap, but it will take some time until the sensors get updated to also cover the Chinese regions as well.

You could of course install a remote probe on one of your EC2 instances in order to monitor the machines just like regular machines with sensors like Ping, SNMP xxx, WMI xxx etc. for "regular monitoring", just not for for EC2-specific metrics.
