Increase PRTG capacity

I have one PRTG server and am monitoring some switches and firewalls with it. I however am running out of resources on the server. I see I can make a cluster or add remote probes. What is the best way to add capacity to the system so I can monitor more switches and routers with PRTG?

Hi Joe,

please take a look at our system requirements, which explain, how much resources you should provide for which amount of sensors:

Also take a look at our "performance tuning guide", how you can speed up your PRTG installation:

A Cluster will not improve, but essentially half, the amount of sensors you can monitor with the same resources.

Using Remote Probes is also the recommended way for scaling PRTG.

Kind regards,
