Windows Updates Status Sensor Doubts - understanding thresholds and more

Votes:

0

Hi,

Please, I have several questions about the sensor indicated in subject

1) What is exactly the difference between "missing" and "hidden" updates?

2) What does it mean the default threshold value of 0,2 in, for instance, channel "Updates (Severity Critical) Hidden"?

3) What threshold value should I set if want to be alerted as soon as there is one pending Critical update with a scanning interval of 12 hours?

Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Based on the first question on the difference between Missing and Hidden, basically this is Microsoft terminology, In summary "missing" patches are updates that are available but not yet installed on a system, while "hidden" patches are updates that are not displayed in the list of available updates but may still be applicable to the system.

The 2nd and 3rd are intertwined, no need to change anything as you will be alerted since the Sensor pulls Microsoft Count standards.

Kind regards,
