How can I test a notification using the API with e.g. Task-Planner ?

Votes:

Hi,

Current situation:

We have an PRTG Cluster up and running. We also have configured lots of triggers and notifications for our customers (we operate a data-center). It seems, that some notification definitions are gone.

To check this, we want to run the API - Command https://<our-server>/api/notificationtest.htm?id=<id_of_a_sensor_object>&username=<myuser>&passhash=<ma_pass_hash> usinf a scheduled task for a per-customer-defined object.

But when executing that API-command e.g. in firefox or IE, nothing happens. No Notifications are triggered, no Messages are send back to the browser... Strange.

Here is the question: How can one test the notification for a specified Sensor using a scheduled Task ?

Thanks for any hints or resolutions :-)

Hello,

I'm afraid the notificationtest-API-Call needs the object ID of a notification, not a sensor.

best regards.

Thanks for your reply. I thought of that. But I cannot see the OID of an Notification anywhere in the Web-UI ...

Can you give me a clue where to look ?

Regards Thomas

When editing a notification, just view the URL in the browser, there you will see the ID.
