Move devices between probes

Votes:

We have installed a remote probe onto a second server as we were getting WMI time outs with having too many sensors polling at once.

Is there a way that we can move some devices and sensors to the new probe but maintain the history data. We need to be able to continue to report on uptime but would like to split our servers between the two probes.

We are currently on version 7.3.4.5710 but could consider upgrading to version 8 if this will assist with this.

Thanks James

hallo,

eitehr use the win GUI to move devices by drag and drop or right click on a device and use "Move"

or go to Devices -> Arrange Groups & devices in the web interface.

The problem is that you can not move a device from one probe to another, just in the same probe.

There should be some way to move groups between devices or probes.

This is useful if you have to resize your PRTG installation as there is limitation of sensors, especially WMI.

Thanks

Hello,

you can move devices or groups from one probe to another. Where exactly do you have difficulties?
