Customise Sensor Naming through *.oidlib file

Votes:

Hi,

I'm wanting to know if it is possible to customise the naming convention when creating sensors using an oidlib file.

The scenario is that I have a NetApp device and I want to use the volume name (known OID) in the autogenerated sensor name when I'm wanting to monitor the capacity of that volume. Is this possible and if so what changes do I need to make in the oidlib file?

Thanks for your help, Michael

This depends on the library you are using. If you can open it using our MIB Importer you can select the OID in case and edit the Name: field, then save the the OIDLIB file. If you are using one of the included OIDLIB files please either save the library using a different name or make the file in case read-only, so that an update installation does not overwrite the changes.
