Why do I get a connection timeout message when sending SMS via bulksms?

When sending an SMS text message notification via, I get an error message saying following:

Error sending "SMS": Number=+1555123456, Message=Socket Error # 10060 Connection timed out.

This error message indicates that PRTG did not receive any response for the HTTP call. When using the provider "bulksms", please check if your firewall is blocking outgoing connections and make sure connections on TCP port 5567 can go through to the provider's servers.

If changing firewalls is a problem, you can also use the Enter a custom URL for a provider not listed option and enter the provider's URL using default port number 80.
