Could someone please explain this error to me.

I have other monitoring on different instances working fine on same server.

We had this problem as well. It occurred after patching SQL Server 2008 to SP2. We did not reboot after the installation (because it was not required). However, received this error. We tried WMIADAP /f with no luck but restarting the WMI service resolved the problem.
