How do I use SNMP Helper with PRTG 8?

Votes:

I am using PRTG 7 and I am still using snmp helper on some system. When adding an new snmp helper sensor I used to be able to select snmp informant and then my snmp version from the drop down list. I was testing PRTG 8 and noticed that snmp informant is no longer listed. I did a search for snmp helper and nothing was found. Is there still a way to use snmp helper sensors?

Dear Jeremy,

you would have to import the SNMP Informant MIBs for PRTG 8 (https://www.paessler.com/tools/mibimporter). Then it should work again.

Best Regards.

Hi,

Could you be a bit more specific please, regarding "the SNMP Informant MIBs for PRTG 8" ? is there a specific MIB to replace the snmp helper? if so, is it available for download? or do you mean, we will have to find mib's for every specific system?

thanks in advance.
