How to configure notifications for circuit errors/discards?

Votes:

Hi We currently monitor all circuits in our company with PRTG. We've already got notifications if a link goes down but not if errors or discards are occuring. We would need to be alerted if a certain amount of errors/discards occur for a certain amount of time. Could you please help me out? Also I noticed that the threshold trigger option is disabled ("Threshold Triggers are flexible means of sending out notifications when certain values are measured by a sensor. This trigger type is not available for the current sensor ") Thanks

Dear Barry,

this is currently an interface-problem (the drop-down boxes only allow one and the same unit-type). But you could use the "Warning- and Error-Limits" as a work around. Please go to the 'Channels'-Tab (PRTG 7 Manual - Channel Settings) of these sensors, where you monitor errors/discards, and enable the limit settings.
Once you have applied limits here, which suit you, you can use the State-Triggers to send out notifications.

Best Regards.
