How can I limit the number of notifications sent by PRTG?

Is there a way to limit the number of notifications for a given status? Currently our notifications are updated hourly which potentially means that we could have 8 or more notifications if a device goes down in the evening. Thanks!

Notification Trigger Settings in PRTG

By default, notifications are only triggered once unless the notification in case is configured so as to trigger an escalation notification. Beyond that, and within the notification settings,

  • it is possible to define if a notification is to be repeated every so often ("Repeat Every (min.)" field). It is not possible, however, to define the notification to repeat only X amount of times. In such an instance it would be necessary to either remove the " Repeat Every (min.)" definition (set to 0) or to acknowledge / pause the sensor so as to no longer receive repeat notifications.
  • If the sensor in case fails due to administration work or similar, it is possible to define a schedule for the same, so that the sensor is not active during the time the administration work takes place.

Please see manual section Notifications for more details about notification triggers.
