How does licensing behave after migrating to a new server

Votes:

After I run through the steps described in the KB article "How can I move or migrate my PRTG installation to a different system or server?", and decommission my old server, what happens to the licensing on the new server that is temporarily freeware? Does it automatically go live once the old server is taken offline? Do I have to authorize the new server in some way?

You have to activate the new server like you did with the old one. That should be no problem.

My PRTG 1000 license is expired. Can I migrate my PRTG to new server using expired license key? Planned to renew after migration.
