Hello,

I'm afraid templates will not change existing devices or sensors, even if the auto-discovery runs again with the same template.

best regards.

Hi, is this the expected behaviour in version 12.2? Im looking to reclassify a device, and tried applying a template, but it finds no new sensors :o(

Thanks

Existing sensors will not be changed by a template and Auto-Discovery again. Please also be aware that once a device is created by the Auto-Discovery it has its own Auto-Discovery setting and does not inherit this anymore from the parent group (so you may need to change it on device-level).

Not being able to reapply a new/changed template to existing devices is a big downside. Is this something likely to change in the future ?
