Dear John,

we recommend creating your own dashboard with the Maps feature in PRTG. Please see PRTG Manual: Maps for details.

best regards.

Dear John

With a little bit of Webpage programming knowledge (html) it is possible to reconfigure the dashboard-files (dashboard.htm, dashboard2.htm, dashboard3.htm and dashboard4.htm)

They are located in For 32Bit-Systems: C:\Program Files\PRTG Network Monitor\website For 64Bit-Systems: C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\website

Thats how I did it for my installation

Hi Gerald,

I've tried following the Maps manual, but no where do I see where it explains how to "convert" or move the newly created map to use as a dashboard. I'd like to see it as a homepage for myself and my users when logging in to our PRTG server instead of "dashboard1", "dashboard2" or "dashboard3".

Any information on this will be appreciated.

It's not possible to add (a user built) map to the list of default dashboards. Please use browser bookmarks instead. Or the "Homepage"-Setting of your PRTG-User.

Hi,

We have a custom dashboard and its working fine except 2 issues:

1. We have stuff sorted so the newest alarm is on top and this gets overwritten automatically every 30 seconds when the page refreshes, sorting it the other way. Is it possible to change this behavior? 2. When we updated the server to latest version the dashboard (custom one) was lost, gone completely. Is there a way to make it persistent over server updates? Like saving somehow?

Regards,

silavric, thank you for the KB-Post.

  1. To have a sorting persistent, it is necessary to actually edit the map objects html-file (https://www.google.com/url?q=https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/1703-how-can-i-add-or-edit-map-objects-used-for-prtg-s-maps&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwjInd2vwtbVAhUhBMAKHa-PBnIQFggHMAE&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNFrnNaymaL8H1qcHCCcGbRlcOrwTw), and then use your custom map objects instead.
  2. Any map with a 5* priority will now be saved as a dashboard. Would this help?
