VMware Virtual Machine sensors

Hi Admins,

Good day! I would just like to ask if it is possible to add SNMP sensors to pull the data of different Virtual Machines inside the VMware ESX/ESXi? So far, I am only using the Virtual Servers, and from there, I select VMware Virtual Machine (SOAP) sensor. And when I choose this, it gives me all the virtual machines inside the ESX. But is it possible to just use SNMP to get the data of the separate virtual machines inside the ESX/ESXi? thanks!

Hello,

I'm afraid not without somehow enabling/installing SNMP inside those machines.

best regards.

Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify, so if I want to get the data from the virtual machines inside the ESX/ESXi server without using the SOAP sensor, I need to enable or install the SNMP of each virtual machines inside the ESX/ESXi. Is that correct? Thanks again.

I can't see how else one would be able to connect with SNMP.
