Migrating PRTG Traffic Grapher 6 data to PRTG 9

Votes:

I have a few years worth of data collected by PRTG Traffic Grapher 6.2.2.983 Freeware Edition on Windows 2003 ServerA

I have a licensed copy (500 sensors) of PRTG 9 on Windows 2008 R2 ServerB

I'd like to be able to retain all of my PRTG Traffic Grapher history and migrate this over to the PRTG 9 installation. All I've found so far is that only PRTG 7 can import PRTG Traffic Grapher data, but no further info on how I'd proceed from there.

Can I maintain this data and move it over to my 9 install via some in-between migration paths? If so, what is the process, and how can I obtain older version of PRTG.

Hello,

I'm sorry but importing from PRTG 6 to PRTG 9 is not possible anymore. We recommend to keep PRTG 6 running and parallel start with a fresh new clean configuration in PRTG 9.

best regards.

This post: https://www.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/253-how-do-i-import-data-from-prtg-traffic-grapher-6-or-ipcheck-server-monitor-5-in-prtg-network-monitor

Indicates that you can import PRTG Traffic Grapher 6 into PRTG 7 If that is possible, is there a way to go from 7-> 9 or from 7 -> 8 -> 9? If so, is there a way I can get installers for versions 7 and 8?

I'm afraid this not supported anymore. We cannot ensure that such an "import-chain" would work properly and smoothly and provide proper and functioning results in PRTG 9, the way Paessler Products are supposed to work. So, importing/upgrading from PRTG 6 to 9 is not possible. Sorry.
