80070005: Access is denied

I have a reoccurring problem with access denied for sensors. It happens only sometimes but results in lots of alerts. All sensors are fine and then suddenly all get access denied for a limited period of time, then all goes up again as nothing has happened. I can pause all sensors, wait for a couple of minutes and then start them again and the problem has disappeared.

All sensors get this error message: Connection could not be established (80070005: Access is denied - Host: server.domain.com ...

Any idea what to do?

Hello,

80070005 means that the Domain Controller / local Windows could not verify the credentials for the target computer. If this error shows up and vanishes again sporadically then we have no explanation at the moment, as PRTG only reports the error the Windows System has encountered. Please see: What are the most common errors when monitoring WMI?

best regards
