Is there any way to clean up the monitoring database (.prd files) of PRTG?

Currently it is eating away about 500MB a day. The files are located in: D:\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\V8\Monitoring Database.

Hallo,

you could change the directory where PRTG stores its data

https://kb.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/543-how-can-i-change-the-data-directory-of-my-prtg-installation

or you can use the purging limits

see

Hey luisalves,

Yes, if you delete the monitor database folder, you will loose all your historical data.

In order to cleanup your disk from old data (which you do not need anymore) we recommend to adjust the data purging settings under Setup >> System Administration >> Core&Probes >> HISTORIC DATA PURGING

For details, please click here

Best regards,
Sven
