How do I use the Value Mapper option in a Sensor Channel?

Votes:

I am adding a sensor from an SMTP Library based on a MIB I imported from HP. The sensor is "cpq he thermal condition" and it will return one of the following values: 1 = other, 2 = ok, 3 = degraded, 4 = failed. When I go to the channel settings for the sensor, there is an option called "Value Mapper", which has the hint "Select the value mapping to be applied to this channel's values". However, the only choice is "None". How can I create a value mapping so that I can it to display the mapped value of "ok" instead of "2"? I have searched through the help, but I can't find a reference to Value Mapper. Thanks!

Hello,

I'm afraid this field does not have a functionality yet, and shouldn't be available actually. It's a preparation for a future mapping-functionality in a later version of PRTG 9. Please bear with us.

best regards.
