Probe connection management

Within PRTG 9 Web interface I added an IP to allowed under probe connection settings but could not get it to work until I discovered more settings within the Server Administration Tool under the Core Server Tab which had to be set to accept connections from remote probes on all IPs as the 3rd option only had the core servers IP as a tick box. It appears to me the settings within the Web Interface and Admin Tool are slightly conflicting?

Hello,

they do "touch" the same "topic" but the settings or their intention is very different. In the Server Admin it's about the Core Server and on which own IP it will listen for Probe Connections. In the webinterface the "Probe-IP-List" is about to have the option of specifically closing out certain IP (Probe IPs) to connect to the server, or only allow certain IPs.

best regards.
