Is billing going to be a feature of PRTG 7?

Votes:

0

It seems like this is still a missing feature from PRTG 7 that is in the PRTG 6 product. Or am I missing it? It would be handy to be able to produce billing reports and use the API to pull the billing total each month for various sensors, such as bandwidth, disk space used, etc. as well as provide the history for these things on the reports.

PRTG 7 and Billing

PRTG is used in a widespread variety of ways, varying by companys, use cases, and service types. With PRTG Traffic Grapher 6—which had a billing feature—we received countless requests for changes, addons, variations of the built-in billing method.

We found that every company has a different concept in mind of how billing should look like for them. As a "boxed-software" company we cannot serve all of these. That is why we decided to not offer billing functionalities for PRTG 7 or later.

You should use PRTG's API, export the data you need and hand it over to your own billing application. Please see the article about PRTG Data Reporting for more details, especially regarding the data export functionalities.
