I want to show geographical maps in the PRTG web interface. Which of the pre-configured map providers is the best for me? Where can I get more information about these providers?
If you used Nokia Maps before, updating to PRTG version 17.4.33 or later will automatically change this setting to HERE Maps. For more information, please see Geo Maps Currently Not Working In PRTG.

Geo Map Providers
To view geographical maps showing the location of your monitored devices, PRTG supports several map providers. The PRTG web server will request geo maps of your monitoring locations and show them.
PRTG supports the following map providers. Some of them require an API key that can be requested on the providers' websites.
|Map Provider||API Key Required?||More Information/Signup|
Discontinued since October 2017. See the article Geo Maps Currently Not Working for details.
|CloudMade||yes||http://cloudmade.com (for CloudMade Enterprise users only)|
|Google Static Maps||yes||How do I get a Google Maps API key for use in PRTG?|
Discontinued since July 11, 2016. See the article Geo Maps Requires a Change of Map Service Provider for details.
Note: To view locations in maps, you need to select a Map Service Provider under Setup | System Administration | User Interface, section Geo Maps. Additionally, you need to enter location information in the Settings tab of your groups and/or devices.
So I have the same question, but your answer doesn't seem to answer it. I'm looking for an opinion, or pros and cons of each service. Which services work better than others with PRTG? I went through the process of getting an API from Google and setting up Google Static Maps, once I did, I got this message:
Note: We recommend that you do not use Google Static Maps! If you use this option. Geo Maps will be shown with limited functionality. You need a Google Maps API v3 key to use Google Static Maps. Please check with Google's license terms first.
Why is it not recommended to use Google Static Maps? Is there a better service? I notice the default is recommended, but why? Is it just because Paessler created it or is it even a Paessler service? Just trying to see what the best direction would be to go for Geo Maps in PRTG.
Either use the default option or HERE Maps, they're the same and actually the only ones that don't require an API key :)
