Backup remote probe configuration

We have a remote probe set up on a machine that is to be decomissioned. The probe was configured by a network admin that is no longer with the company. It monitors several pieces of equipment that we do not have the credentials for. Is there a way to back up the current remote probe and restore it to the new machine? If so will it keep the login credentials and IP configuration?

Dear Scott,

the configuration/settings for the groups and devices monitored by a Remote Probe are entirely stored on the PRTG Core Server in the "central" configuration file. All the probe stores in terms of "settings" are settings how to connect to the Core Server. Then it gets all information via the probe-core-connection. So basically you can simply move the devices from the Remote Probe to another Probe in the webinterface, and the credentials (and all other settings) will be moved along.

best regards.
