Unusual Detection

Hello,

I was looking for some extra information about this feature, but found very little. I would like to set this feature to change the state of a sensor immediately, once a heavy amount of traffic, ppa - goes through.

Does this feature provide immediate 'state change' once a value is way off than the average, or does it take the time to calc the total average, and only after it parts the configured setting - it changes the state?

Thanks! Best Regards.

Hello,

the Unusual Detection calculates the average (for example 1 hour) from the last measurement on, and then compares it with the current (hourly) average. "Immediate" checks (in the sense of only comparing the current value with the average from last week) are not done.

best regards.

Torsten - thanks for your replay. Any reason i'm getting only 1 day interval unusual, rather then hourly as well?

Thanks.

Maybe the thresholds are set differently for the two unusual detections? Please check under "Setup"->"System Administration"->"Monitoring" (in previous versions: "System & Website").

Hi, Unfortunately The thresholds are the same. Any other ideas?

Thanks.

The issue is likely very simple, that only one message is displayed even if both the hourly and daily averages are detected unusual.

Hi, I've set the first "Show Unusual When" to never, and the second one to: Hourly avg is >20%. I still get no unusual sensors what so ever...

Any other options?

Thanks
