How can I Work around the 1000 item limitation of the object selector of the map editor

Is there a way to work around the 1000 item limitation of the Map Editor? For example, I could look up the Object ID manually and type it into an input box instead of scanning the list. At the moment what I do is move the probe I want to source an object from to the top of the hierarchy but I don't like doing it because it confuses our sysadmins when the list order changes.

You can enter an ID manually at the very end of the selection tree list (select the last entry "Object ID:").

I didn't realize that it was editable. That's perfect.

In Maps editor of PRTG v8, this limitation will not exist any more.
