Sonicwall NSA-4500 using Netflow v9

I am trying to configure PRTG with Netflow v9. I can see the packets making it to the PRTG server, but the PRTG software isn't seeing it. IPs and ports are correctly pointing to one another. I need help figuring this out.

I did find this one post: "I have found an active flow timeout of 9 minutes within a netflow V9 sensor will work well with a Sonicwall 2400 running SonicOS Enhanced 5.8.0.3-40o and set to send periodic updates every 10 seconds."

...but it didn't make any difference. I'm not too sure what to try next.

  • UPDATE* I ended up using Netflow v5 even though SonicWall has a v9 option, and it worked. I'm still scratching my head as to why Netflow v9 isn't picked up by PRTG. Is this a bug with PRTG?

That's not a bug in PRTG, it rather seems that Sonicwall does not use fully compatible Netflow v9 packets, compared to what the original Cisco devices send.
