VMWare SOAP monitoring problem

I'm trying to monitor our ESX 4.1 servers using PRTG, however whenever I add any of the VMware sensors, I keep getting the following error:-

Error Message [prtg] [error] 2 [/error] [text]The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.[/text] [/prtg]

Sensor Type VMware Host Hardware Status (SOAP)

We do have an ISA 2004 proxy on site however I have *not* set a proxy in PRTG. Does PRTG rely on Internet Explorer's settings? If so, how do I disable this behaviour? (changing IE settings is not an option since group policy will reset them automatically)

Hello,

the VMWare Sensors in PRTG should not use any IE-User-Profile based proxy setting, unless it's a system wide proxy-setting also effecting the user account under which the PRTG Probe Service is running via a GPO or similar.

best regards.

Thanks. For the benefit of others, the answer to this issue was to change the user account that the PRTG monitor was running as from Local System to a domain account. ESX monitoring is now working fine.
