How to add OID to device name template

Votes:

0

Hi

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to change/add an OID to the "device name" field. Currently a Cisco device in my network is shown as "hostname.domain (x.x.x.x) [Cisco IOS Cisco Device] (x.x.x.x)". My idea is to add metainfo in the name. I'm thinking about adding the name of the location in the OID for "contact" or "chassis-id" so the name that I see in PRTG monitor looks something like this: "contact-OID - hostname.domain (x.x.x.x) [Cisco IOS Cisco Device] (x.x.x.x)".

Is it possible or does someone have a better idea?

Sincerly yours

/Ditlev

device-template hostname snmp

Hello,

sorry this is not possible, but PRTG already tries to read such information and also writes that into the "Comments"-Tab of a device, maybe this can be of help.

best regards.
