PRTG license upgrade

Upgrading PRTG is easy. After you have purchased your license upgrade and received your new license key, follow the steps below.

  1. In the PRTG web interface, select Setup | License Information from the main menu bar.
  2. Click Change License Key.
  3. Enter your License Name and your new License Key.
  4. Click Update License.

For more details, see PRTG Manual: Enter a License Key.

This section applies to PRTG 16.4.27 and previous versions

  1. Make sure you run a PRTG commercial edition. If you are not sure, check the entry Licensed Edition under Setup | License | Status in the PRTG web interface.
  2. In the PRTG web interface, select Setup | License | Enter License Key from the main menu bar.
  3. Enter your License Name and your new License Key.
  4. Click Save and confirm to restart the PRTG core server.

Note: You can alternatively use the PRTG Administration Tool, tab License, to enter your license key. In previous versions, you find this option in the PRTG Server Administrator tool.

Your installation will now use the new license. All configurations and historic data will be retained.
