How can I find out which MIB-Files I have to use for a specific hardware and how can I troubleshoot

I have a Cisco AP1242AG AccessPoint which I want to monitor with PRTG.

So I downloaded the concerning MIB-Files for the AP here:

ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/c1240/c1240-supportlist.html

First of all I need to know which files I need to download. I tried to download and compile them all together. But I always got errors during the compilation. Are there dependecies between those files in general? How can I find the right files or what have I done wrong?

What can I do if a vendor of a MIB-File doesn't stick to the standard that is given for those files and a compilation guids to errors?

How can I figure out if it is possible to monitor a special counter?

To give further information about the AP:

- System Software Version: 12.4(25d)JA1 - Bootloader Version: 12.4(13d)JA

Hello,

which exact error do you get on the MIB-Import? Maybe you can send us the problematic MIB with an email to [email protected].

best regards.
