i would like to find out if anyone is plugging in their personal devices in my network using prtg. is that possible.

If someone brings their personal laptop and pluged it into our network can PRTG identify that a new device has been added and pop up with a notification or alarm.

hello,

no, not that easily, sorry. You would need to run a constant auto discovery of the network.
