What is the meaning of the log entry of the sensor.

Votes:

0

We observed some unusual entry in logs of the our http sensors configured in PRTG.

It is as follows:

Connection reset by peer (socket error # 10054)

Please give us some insight into it. And how it is relevant. How much importance should be rendered to such entries.

Any help is welcomed.

Thanks,

Dhaval

This error means that an existing connection has been forcibly closed by the remote server or application. In general, this results if the remote server/application is suddenly stopped, the host is rebooted, the host or remote network interface is disabled, or the remote host uses a hard close. This error may also result if a connection was broken due to keep-alive activity detecting a failure while one or more operations are in progress.
