Could not log in using the specified credentials.

Hi,

Since updating PRTG to the latest version (12.4.7.3507) a large number of our network card WMI sensors are reporting the following error:

PC: Could not log in using the specified credentials. Please make sure they are not only valid for the target system, but for the probe system as well. (Performance Counter error 0xB0000004)

Normally with-in 5 minutes this error will go away and the sensors will return to a green state. However it will pop up again at random.

Any ideas why this is happening since updating?

Thanks, David.

Hello,

it seems that the performance counters cannot be read reliably by the PRTG sensors, please try choosing "WMI Only" in the "WMI Compatibility Options" for the parent group(s) of the devices on which you experience these issues.

best regards
