Cluster Architecture

I think its not very clever to have only nodes with the same PRTG version to be able to connect to the master node, because obviously it is not always that you'll find the failover node being updated but the master.

Cluster: Access denied for node at A.B.C.D:49168 (Incorrect software version)

If the node wants to join a cluster and the cluster access key is correct then it should be fine to connect to the master, and then the master will then update the failover with the current PRTG version

Please reconsider your setup

cluster failover master

What you want is exactly what PRTG is doing: If you get the message

Access denied for node at A.B.C.D:49168 (Incorrect software version)

then the cluster node with the older software version will immediately start to download the installer from the node with the more recent software version and then will install it automatically. A few minutes later the whole cluster is updated.

This way the cluster is automatically updated to one version as soon as one cluster node is updated.
