Does anyone present there monitoring data via a simpler (bigger) interface ?

I'm looking into geekboards or something similar

demo http://dashingdemo.herokuapp.com/sample

Application http://shopify.github.com/dashing/

I got frustrated that i could not present a 'site' as a big green icon for example.

Hi,
did you already have a look at the Maps Functionality of PRTG?
There is also a Blog article describing how we use Maps on our internal dashboards running on 42" LCD TVs.
At last you might also have a look at this KB article describing how to publish sensor data to Ducksboard.
Best regards
