Notification on change of bandwidth usage

Votes:

0

We are currently monitoring multiple servers that are streaming video and audio and as such have a fairly constant bandwidth usage. Occasionally the bandwidth usage drops but doesn't disconnect and so we don't get any notification of this happening.

Is there any way that we can monitor a bandwidth sensor or any other sensor similar and send a notification if there is a large change in the value being recorded?

I know we can use unusual monitors but these run too slow as we want to be able to respond as soon as these events happen to try to diagnose the issue closer to the time.

You could try using limits on the channels of the sensor. Head to the sensor, open the Channels settings, and select to use Limits. You can then add limits for upper and lower warning / error alarms. You could use the same to trigger notifications.
