Installation of PRTG on a machine with IP's

We are an ISP and I use PRTG to monitor my Radio distribution network which we have set up on 10.x.x.x . We also monitor our Client Edge routers which have been allocated Public IP addresses. I am getting a lot of false alarms, PRTG showing equipment to be down when they are in fact up. Any suggestions.

What kind of issues or errors are you seeing? Often systems going into down states can be the result of bad network connections or the server not responding in a timely fashion but without knowing more, it's hard to say where to start. Also, lowering scanning intervals is somewhat useful as well to allow for the monitored devices the chance to respond.
