WMI Security Center not grabbing Type

Votes:

0

When setting up a WMI Security Center sensor to monitor Anti-Virus/Security items, in the list it shows the products, and the type is shown on the right. But once the items are selected (or found via autodiscovery), you are no longer able to see the Type the product is. This is a issue when your antivirus product has AntiVirus, AntiSpyware, and Firewall all in the same product. You get the three items all showing the same name, with no way to tell which is which when there is a error status.

Thank you for your feedback. We do understand the problem and we will add the type to the default sensor name.

In the meantime, if the sensor goes to warning or error state, you can go to the settings and you will find a setting called "Type". This setting is not changeable, but you can see which type the sensor is.

Here is a link to a image: http://i44.tinypic.com/103imvq.png

As you can see in the Sensor settings, it shows the Type to the right (Antivirus/AntiSpyware/Firewall), but the name is the same for all. Once the sensor is saved, the only information retained is the Product Name.
