How can I create a view of groups filtered by tags?

Hi

I've organised our network objects within groups representing each remote site. I've tagged each of the site groups with tags representing the ISP they connect through. I now want to create a view showing the site groups with their status and organised by ISP.

Firstly, I tried creating a library with nodes for each ISP and with the appropriate tag filter configured, but the resulting page goes straight down to the sensor level, whereas I want to summarise at the site group level.

Next, I tried creating a map and got mixed results. I thought about creating a separate map for each ISP and filtering the objects using the tag filter on the maps settings tab. When I tried creating a geomap and associating with the group that is the parent of all site groups, the filtering didn't work -- it displayed all site groups. When I changed it to a sunburst, it only displayed the first tagged site group and ignored the 23 other groups with the same ISP tag. I've tried various other properties objects but they either display all site groups or nothing at all.

Is it possible to create a view of groups filtered by tags and, if so, how?

Thanks - Simon

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm very much afraid the filtering by tags always "boils" down to sensors, because only sensors are the objects that "really use" tags. Objects in higher hierarchy only pass on the tags. So I'm afraid the only suggestion would be building the libraries manually with drag & drop.

best regards.

Hi Torsten

Thanks for your reply.

At your suggestion, I've revisited creating a library. I've created a group for each ISP, started dragging the site groups in and am noticing a node gets automatically created for each site group. Is there any way to tidy this up?

Rgds, Simon
