Is it possible to retrieve a sensor configuration through the API?

I want to get the ping timeout value for the ping sensor. I have following problem : I get notifications from ping sensors when device gets disconnected. This is fine, but the notification message only says "Request timed out" and i can't parse the timeout limit from the message.

So, I want to get this value from the API.

Yes, you can retrieve object settings from the API.
