What are the best sensors to use for each Exchange 2010 function?

Out of all the sensors available to monitor the Exchange environment, which are the most "useful" to monitor the DAG, CAS/Hub servers?

thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm afraid for DAG we don't have anything in our portfolio in the moment. However for CAS/HUB-Servers we would indeed recommend to use the new Exchange Server (Powershell based) Sensors, to query:

  • DB Size(s)
  • Items in the mailboxes
  • Mail queues
  • Backups But also the 'old' (WMI based) Exchange sensors to monior DB-Cache Size(s), RPC-Latency, etc. And of course the basic WMI Sensors Disk Free, Memory, Network & CPU.

best regards.
